This book was absolutely amazing. After reading it I have since purchased it for many people. It's amazing how little is truly taught on grace, which is not some new doctrine, but what was there all along. Pastor Prince backs up every single claim he makes with scripture in CONTEXT. I think that's the biggest issue is most people know popular scriptures, but they may not know the context of it. It's like taking a soundbite out of an interview. Without hearing the full interview that one soundbite can take on a whole other meaning. I think that's what's so critical about this book. He will present scripture in context along with the original Greek and Hebrew to show that Christians should not rely so much on their own effort, but the finished work of the cross. I recently started attending his church, Grace Revolution, out here in Dallas and he continues to talk the same principles to this day. I have personally seen multiple addictions of mine broken AFTER I quit trying to stop them on my own. Grace is real and it causes us to reign!Product details

This book is well worth every penny and far, far more. As an older Christian with many years' experience reading several translations of the Bible, a period of teaching in a Bible college, and both hearing and reading messages by trustworthy spirit-led ministers, I first discovered Joseph Prince less than a year ago. His depth of knowledge and understanding of Scripture and the Christian life are highly inspirational. He has a very good knowledge of both Hebrew and Greek and an unusually effective way of explaining their meaning in the original text as applied to current understanding. This book is exceptionally well written, easy to read, and very encouraging to one's faith and trust in God and all that Jesus Christ paid for us with his obedience, suffering and death on the cross. The precepts and explanations of eternal forgiveness and the Lord's grace toward us that are included can be life-changing for believers. When reading, I find it difficult to lay this book down for other things I need to do.
I am in my fifth year of reading this Devotional. I have actually given 12 of these Devotionals to my family and friends. Each year, I read something that I did not catch the previous year. I color code my book for each year and I underline in that color for that year what I missed. AWESOME
great book, I would recommend anything by Joseph Prince, I was introduced to the grace gospel through him, snatched the book off a lady I was sitting next to in church, saying "a man with makeup I am pretty sure that is a sin" I was hoping to bring some law down hard on this handsome looking fella that I thought would have nothing to tell me. So long story short I was wrong and haven't looked back on my journey away from the law and a works based system. Thanks Joseph your books have been a great blessing to me.
Because of my spiritual war in my head about self righteousness and humility; I was hesitant to purchase this book. Thinking, "Destined to Reign is such a presumptuous title!" This Book is so so biblically on cue and chalked full of God's words of knowledge and wisdom, that I now realize that the enemy was the one trying to keep me from reading this book to keep me under its hold of lies! This Book is such a blessing to me and my heart that longs for the touch and experience of my heavenly Daddy and Savior Yeshuá, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit! Thank you Lord for your Love and your gentle hand that nudged to get this book. Nudge many others I pray in Yeshuá's Name Amen!
Pastor Joseph Prince has been such a blessing to me. He states truth in such clear and simple terms. I compared his writing with my experience with Alanon and trying to deal with my alcoholic husband. Alanon simply stated, "Take your eyes off of the alcoholic." That changed my life, realizing I was wasting my time focusing on my husband. When I was in a serious depression and began reading Pastor Princes's books he stated, "Focus your eyes on Jesus." Obediently I did just that. I looked directly at our Savior and my life immediately changed for the better. I wake up early every morning and read a little of Destined to Reign and always learn something more about my beloved Jesus. My world opens up and blossoms before me, showing me how much I'm loved by our God, how I am saved by Grace and never have to try to please our God because He's never angered by what I do and I don't have to "try". I was forgiven at the cross, which makes me want to be the best I can, even though I know I'll fall, my Savior will always be here with His Grace, smiling on me, loving me, seeing me as perfect, through Jesus Christ. I am not saved by law, I am saved by grace! This book helped me realize this!
I bought this book with some skepticism. I have seen him on TV and while I think he has some amazing insight into scripture, I was not sure how scripturally sound he was. I come from a baptist/fundamentalist background but through study of the Bible I have seen how there is tradition heaped into these denominations.
I had read many of the criticisms of JP online - it seems many of them are just a cut and paste of the same accusations and since I had heard him preach and what he said about grace made a lot of sense, so I wanted to read what the man had to saw, to get it from the horses mouth, so to speak.
At the church I attend now, our pastor always says, "Let scripture interpret scripture" . . . funny enough, JP says that often throughout this book. He addresses his critics arguments head on, he kills a few sacred cows in this book and you know what? Scripture supports JP & his message of grace!
I would really encourage people to read this book. The message of biblical grace is so beautiful and simple as Paul, and now JP, are preaching it - without all the man-imposed ideas. Jesus has paid the price. He has DONE it all. We only need to come to the end of ourselves, to end the self reliance and good works and look to Jesus and his finished work on the cross for our salvation.
